Taxonomy:

Status: Occasional casual introduction.
Description: Likened superficially to a rove (staphylinid) beetle although presence of forceps easily identify it as an earwig. Dull, yellowish brown with a pubescent body and dark head. The antennae usually have 16 segments.
Habitat: Native to Southern Europe, but occasionally imported to Britain. The species lives under rocks in damp places.
Phenology: Adults can be found from June to October.
