Taxonomy: Dictyoptera>>Blattodea>>Blattellidae

Status: British Isles non-native species.

Description: Yellowish brown and has variable stripes on the pronotum.

Wings: Both sexes are fully winged and can fly, though they rarely do so.

Food: Omnivorous, feeding on refuse and anything edible that is not too dry and hard.

Habitat: Despite its name, the species is native to North Africa. In Britain occurs only in houses, and in summer, on land fill sites.

Phenology: Indoors adults may be seen all year round.
